Another way support heart health is to drink red wine on a daily basis, two to three glasses a day. For those who are not comfortable drinking red wine, Grape cell powder is a recommended alternative to wine.

Those of us who are close to turning 50 or have just turned 50 are probably becoming more aware of our health and changes in our body. Maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle as well as taking care of yourself is the right path for living a long and healthy life.
However, it is important to know what diseases may occur at this stage of life, recognise their symptoms and be prepared for them. Testing is available to detect potential disease timely manner or just to assess risk of those diseases. High Blood pressure and clogged arteries are symptoms of heart disease that can lead to a heart attack. Despite a recent decline in heart disease worldwide, this is still considered the number one cause of death in Western countries.

The heart is a muscle, Just like any other muscle in the body  it can be strengthen and developed. Exercising, especially walking or running outdoors or on a treadmill is a great way to strengthen
the heart. Another way support heart health is to drink red wine on a daily basis, two to three glasses a day. For those who are not comfortable drinking red wine, Grape cell powder is a recommended alternative to wine.

It is considered an effective and useful super-food with all the benefits of wine – without the alcohol and sugars. The heart is an important muscle but what about the other muscles in the body? Muscle mass decreases as we get older. By the age of 50 you may feel physically weaker; it might be harder to pick things up or carry the bags from the supermarket; perhaps going up the stairs or taking walk long walks require special effort.

It is important to maintain muscle mass as we get older. Though you do not necessarily have to run to the gym and lift weights, you can return the strength to your muscles through exercise and resistance training preferably with a personal trainer. Increasing our protein intake also improves muscle strength. The next area of concern – bones. The bones in our body wear down and weaken, mostly as a result of calcium being leached from our bones.

This is known as Osteoporosis. Women and one in five men over the age of 50 suffer from osteoporosis If a person suffers from Osteoporosis they have an increased risk  of fractures. Common fractures that occur as people get older are a fracture of the femur, the wrist and the back bones. Calcium supplements and vitamin D supplements are thought to help against osteoporosis. Getting out in the sun will also increase

your vitamin D levels – but do it safely.
It is important we do not to take our  health for granted. Stop smoking. Get up off the couch – go for a walk. Don’t have that pizza – eat a health balanced meal. Be with the people you love and most importantly smile – good days are ahead of you.
