1. Engage in Physical activity: You don’t need to run a marathon but maybe take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk to the shops instead of driving. Try and do at least two and a half hours of physical activity a week. Of course check with a doctor before starting any strenuous activity.

6. Maintain normal glucose levels – The mortality rate for people with diabetes is higher than people who don’t have the condition. Proper eating, maintaining normal body weight, exercising and taking appropriate medication will significantly reduce the risk of diabetes.
7. Maintain proper blood pressure – Maintaining normal blood pressure is very important for preventing heart disease and other issues. People with high blood pressure are often unaware it as there are no obvious symptoms. Therefore, it is important to keep track of your blood pressure, maintain normal body weight, limit salt intake, and take prescription medication.
